- The reason for the power limitation is heating caused by remagnetization losses in the core material.
If the specified power is exceeded, the losses in the core material increase, which in turn leads to heating of the core material.
When the Curie temperature > 130 °C is reached, the permeability of the core decreases. The SWV increases sharply and is therefore an indicator of an excessively high core temperature.
After the core material has cooled down, the core regains its specific permeability. The SWV returns to normal values.
This process is reversible.
